Introducing NanoLite and the BOLT
We’re excited to now offer New Zealand companies a faster, safer and more sustainable way of hand wrapping pallets.
It’s why we’re understandably proud of our new dual solution – one that takes the guesswork and pain out of hand wrapping. Using NanoLite film with the BOLT dispenser means fast and easy walk-forward application, the perfect wrap tension, and pallets protected with greater strength and less plastic.
The effectiveness of the solution is thanks in no small part to the simultaneous development of the two products.
“The BOLT dispenser and NanoLite ‘partnership’ was born from the desire to make hand wrapping safer, easier and consistent,” says Universal’s General Manager Jed Goudie. “To achieve this we needed to look at the two key tools in the hand wrapping process.”
First, let’s start with the pallet wrap. NanoLite film is up to 50% thinner than other hand-wrap products on the market while offering superior containment force.
The lightweight 1-inch diameter cardboard core reduces waste while aiding use and, being pre-stretched, it ensures exact application tension for the very best load holding force. This reduces the volume of film needed to securely wrap pallets and reduces the amount of plastic needed.
“This film is perfectly suited to high volume distribution centres that, due to the dynamics of the operation, may be unable to automate pallet wrapping,” says Jed.
“They might require multiple operators to hand wrap in multiple locations simultaneously, or they might be progressively wrapping as pallets are picked. Either way, NanoLite provides an ideal solution.”
NanoLite is also perfect for use with our new BOLT dispenser. This new pallet-wrapping tool is anything but ‘a bolt from the blue’. Careful testing during the R&D phase has improved the design to ensure greater usability and effective durability. A big part of its appeal is due to the safety
“The BOLT dispenser is a must-have for hand wrapping users who want to avoid ACC claims related to hand wrapping back injuries,” says Jed.
“There’s no denying that hand wrapping is a labour-intensive task – so anything we can do to make this easier, safer and faster has got to be a good thing!”
The torque limiter provides consistent tension without pressure on the film core. A tough, lightweight drop-resistant frame takes the knocks. A unique quick-release feature makes roll replacement a breeze. And there’s a handy magnet for keeping the BOLT close by and ready to go.
