Take it for a spin

While NZ companies see the obvious benefits of packaging semi-automation some are hesitant to change due to budget and safety process challenges. However with additional safety systems available for lease too you can now “try before you buy”.

Our leasing and lease-to-own options have been popular for companies who want to make the step away from hand wrapping or increase existing throughput.

Recently though we’ve noticed some are hesitant to place a new unit due to a perception that new safety issues may complicate matters, but more on that later. First, we’ll go through the options available.

Short and medium term leasing arrangements have been in place with some DCs in recent years. It can be that some companies want to take on the extra capacity with seasonal commitments requiring additional resources. At other times it’s a matter of testing the gains. With a Scope site audit and remote film monitoring options we are more than happy to provide this peace of mind.

With additional safety systems available for lease too you can now “try before you buy” and, in the immortal words of Mr Ice Cube, “check yo’self before you wreck yo’self”.

We also provide lease-to-own programmes, which are generally the favoured option out of the two. Such arrangements are based on a 36-month schedule, with weekly payments made in this time allowing companies to smooth out the investment of a pallet wrapper unit over a three-year period.

We’re noticing more Kiwi companies are (quite rightly) first checking that they’re ticking all the safety boxes before trialling new equipment too. The average entry-level pallet wrapper still has many moving parts and the physical layout and safety system of a warehouse needs to address this.

Recently this ‘fear of the unknown’ may have prevented companies from improving their packaging efficiency. However we now can arrange additional safety system support as part of any leasing arrangement. Jason Lightfoot, our technical services consultant and safety expert, has considerable expertise installing new and retrofitted systems, both permanent and temporary.
