Meet the Team: Gaylene O’Neill, Business Development Manager
After 15 years in the media industry, Gaylene O’Neill was looking for a change of pace. She found what she was seeking in the packaging industry and, almost two decades later, she still enjoys the opportunities for growth and development it provides.
As a business development manager, it’s Gaylene’s job to find the just-right result that meets the specific needs of our customers. She works hard to ensure these customers receive the highest level of service and, as a result, her reputation has continued to grow.
We had a chat with Gaylene to find out a bit more about her and her work.
Tell us about your career in the packaging industry so far…
I have spent the past 17 years in the packaging industry as a sales manager, building strong client relationships and helping businesses find the right packaging solutions to meet their needs.
How has the industry changed over the years?
When I was starting out the industry was quite different. There was a far greater reliance on face-to-face interactions and traditional sales methods. Technology has since transformed the way we do business – and that’s in everything from digital communication and e-commerce approaches to the more advanced packaging solutions.
Customer expectations have also evolved. There’s now a stronger focus on sustainability, innovation, and customised solutions. Adapting to these changes has been the key to staying ahead in the industry.
What is the secret to doing well in your job?
I enjoy the opportunity to connect with clients and to learn more about their businesses. Additionally, I also really appreciate the positive company culture and the support of the team here. It’s always helpful to have an enjoyable workplace!

What are you surprisingly good at?
I have a natural ability to work with animals it seems. Understanding their needs and behaviour seems to be second nature for me. So, whether it’s caring for them or simply building a connection, I find it incredibly rewarding.
What do you do to relax?
I find relaxation in taking my greyhounds for walks and just enjoying the fresh air and peaceful moments outdoors. Listening to music also helps me unwind, providing a perfect way to relax and recharge.
What’s important to you in your life?
My health, my adult son, my family, and my greyhounds are the most important aspects of my life. Staying healthy allows me to be there for my loved ones, and my family and dogs bring me joy, companionship, and a sense of fulfilment.
