Package Deal: Spicers NZ and Universal Packaging

At the end of November Spicers NZ acquired Universal Packaging – the sale was the culmination of many months of hard work behind the scenes by both companies.

Now rubbing shoulders with well-regarded brands such as Total Supply and CPS, who are also in the Spicers group, Universal Packaging is on a bigger stage than ever before.

While this is certainly a big step (and one worth celebrating), for our customers and suppliers, little will change in either the short or medium term. Both companies are committed to ensuring the standard of service only continues to rise. Both will continue to operate independently. Both are working with a ‘business as usual’ approach.

In the medium term we will be busy forging plans on how the businesses can work closer together. A broader product offering will clearly suit the customers of both businesses.

We look forward to partnering with such a renowned New Zealand company. Spicers have been serving the country’s paper needs for over 100 years now. The move by the company to focus on sustainable growth has seen them invest in the paper, sign, display and packaging industries over the last two decades. The acquisition of our company is another example of their future-forward mindset. 2022 promises great things for both brands.
