When stock is anything but standard
When putting together our newsletter each month we sometimes require a stock image to use with our articles. These generic photographs might help communicate something about wrap, boxes, or pallets.
After searching for a while, it’s through these photos an obvious pattern begins to emerge.
Apparently, in the eyes of many photographers, if you work in a distribution centre you’re most likely to be spending most of your time doing one of three things…
1. Riding equipment inappropriately. Some are perched on the side of forklifts, others being carried around on pallets. But, above all, photographers love taking shots of people riding pallet jacks. So many pallet jacks.
2. Dancing. We blame 80s movies Footloose and Flashdance. Thanks to these films linking the industrial warehouse with fancy-pantsy choreography the general public at least suspects that the average DC is filled with workers dancing like nobody’s watching.
3. Hurting yourself. But when you look at the image below, it’s really no wonder these models end up in such terrible situations. After all, who doesn’t always lift large boxes while arching their back and blocking their line of sight?
